For the Assay Development Scientist position, we are looking for an experienced and highly passionate scientist who wants to join a fast-paced start-up aiming to transform medical diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

● Perform hands-on laboratory experiments including enzyme assays, protein expression and purifications using an E. coli chassis.

● Perform and optimize enzyme assays and validate performance using a variety of analytical methods (colorimetric, lateral flow assays, etc.)

● Actively participate as a member of the product development team.

● Maintain a thorough electronic lab notebook, and present data in weekly group meetings.

● General lab maintenance as required.

Requirements:

● PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology, protein engineering, biochemistry, or similar) with 0-1 years of hands-on laboratory experience or Master’s degree in a relevant field with ≥1 year of full-time hands-on laboratory research experience.

o Post-bac candidates with exceptional, proven laboratory experience will also be considered.

● Highly capable of performing protein workflows independently.

● Experience with protein expression and purification (e.g. IMAC, IEX, HIC, SEC, etc.) in E. coli is required.

● Experience with rigorous enzyme assays (e.g. ELISA, colorimetric, etc.) is strongly preferred.

● Proficiency in design and execution of enzyme assays.

● Experience with bioconjugation chemistry (e.g. maleimide-thiol, NHS-amine, etc.) is preferred.

● Experience with biomolecule (e.g. enzymes, peptides, etc.) surface immobilization is a plus.

● Experience with lateral flow assays is a plus.

● Ability to optimize and troubleshoot difficult/complex experimental protocols.
