Senior Revenue Accountant

Job Description

Hydrolix is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing data management and analytics. As we scale, we’re optimizing our processes to capture, report, and analyze customer contract and revenue data. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting this growth by managing customer contract data, ensuring accurate revenue reporting, and driving process and system scalability. This role will also have the opportunity for significant growth into other key accounting areas, including stock-based compensation, software capitalization, variance analysis, and investor reporting. This fast-paced, dynamic environment rewards creative problem-solving and solution-driven thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Process Management: Lead collaboration with Sales, Business Systems, and external partners to streamline and automate contract processes, ensuring scalability and strong controls
• Expiration & Renewal Tracking: Work proactively with Sales and external partners to ensure adequate lead time for contract expirations and renewals, maximizing conversion opportunities
• Revenue Review and Reporting: Measure and report on revenue, monthly recurring revenue (MRR), billings, and related financial details
• Commissions Management: Own the entire commissions process, including documenting commission criteria, leveraging Salesforce for calculations, preparing reports for management, issuing monthly sales rep statements, and performing accounting reconciliations
• Audit Support: Assist with preparation for our first financial statement audit, leading areas including revenue and commissions
• Other Accounting Areas: Help build and grow the accounting function
• Billing: Lead all billing processes, including implementing and managing usage-based billing
• Process Optimization: Build and refine scalable processes to enhance efficiency as we grow

Qualifications and Skills

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
• Comfortable optimizing and learning new software (Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and Carta)
• Creative problem-solver that that takes ownership of their work
• Enjoys and excels at collaborating with others
• Strong analytical and process optimization skills
• High attention to detail with excellent communication abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
