Endovascular Engineering is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the Company's accounting operations, monthly close process, financial reporting, payroll administration, compliance activities, and finance systems administration. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and helping scale the finance organization as the Company transitions through commercialization and continued growth. The role will work closely with the Controller and serve as a cross-functional backup for NetSuite ERP administration and inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in a venture-backed medical device, life sciences, or manufacturing environment, strong accounting systems expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth company.

Job Description

The Director of Accounting reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading the Company's accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll administration, compliance activities, and finance systems administration. This individual will ensure the integrity of the Company's financial records, manage the monthly close process, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and help build scalable financial processes to support commercial growth. The role will work closely with the Controller and develop sufficient knowledge of NetSuite ERP administration and inventory management processes to provide backup coverage and business continuity.

Financial Reporting and Close

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reporting packages.

• Perform budget-to-actual analyses and variance reporting.

• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.

• Coordinate inventory accounting activities with the Controller and develop sufficient understanding to provide backup support when needed.

General Accounting

• Oversee accounts payable processes and payment administration.

• Review accounting transactions and ensure appropriate GAAP treatment.

• Maintain general ledger integrity and account reconciliations.

• Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.

Payroll and Employee Administration

• Administer payroll processes and related reporting.

• Manage employee setup, compensation changes, bonus payments, and terminations.

• Ensure payroll compliance and accuracy.

Compliance and Corporate Reporting

• Coordinate annual corporate filings, licenses, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities.

• Support tax return preparation and R&D tax credit activities.

• Manage 1099 reporting and related compliance requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting Support

• Administer budget and forecast templates.

• Consolidate departmental submissions and reporting.

• Upload approved budgets and forecasts into NetSuite.

• Support management reporting and variance analysis.

Finance Systems Administration

• Serve as administrator for finance applications including payroll, AP automation, expense management, tax, and reporting platforms.

• Partner closely with the Controller, who serves as primary NetSuite ERP administrator.

• Develop working knowledge of NetSuite administration to provide backup support and business continuity.

• Support system integrations, user access management, reporting enhancements, and process automation.

Cross-Training and Business Continuity

• Develop working knowledge of NetSuite ERP administration and inventory management processes.

• Cross-train with the Controller on critical accounting and operational processes.

• Document key procedures and maintain business continuity practices across the finance organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• CPA preferred.

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, or venture-backed company experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

• Experience with NetSuite and related finance systems.

• Strong analytical, systems, and process-improvement skills.
