Position Overview
- The Controller will lead all core accounting operations and build scalable financial processes to support rapid growth. This role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, deep systems expertise, and hands-on experience implementing and optimizing financial automation tools such as RAMP, QuickBooks Online (QBO), NetSuite, and other integrated finance platforms. SaaS metrics and revenue recognition experience (ASC 606) required.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
- Partner with the SVP, Finance on cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Manage external audit, tax advisors, and other third-party providers.
Systems & Automation
- Own and optimize ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online).
- Administer and scale spend management platforms such as RAMP.
- Evaluate and implement automation tools to improve reporting, close efficiency, and internal controls.
- Lead system integrations between ERP, payroll, expense management, banking, and reporting tools.
- Build scalable dashboards and reporting packages for leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems architecture to support growth and potential future financing or exit.
Process Improvement & Scalability
- Design scalable processes to support rapid revenue growth and geographic expansion.
- Shorten monthly close timeline through automation and workflow optimization.
- Document and standardize accounting procedures.
- Build KPI tracking frameworks aligned with executive reporting needs.
- Support financial due diligence efforts as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in high-growth or venture-backed companies strongly preferred.
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience leading audits and managing external accounting partners.
- Demonstrated experience building processes in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Systems & Technical Expertise
- Experience with NetSuite (preferred) or other mid-market ERP systems.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Experience with RAMP or similar spend management platforms.
- Financial system integrations and automation tools.
- Advanced Excel
- Payroll systems (e.g., Rippling or similar).
- ERP implementation or migration experience (e.g., QBO to NetSuite) preferred.
