Atmosphere is the world’s first and largest free ad-supported streaming TV service for businesses offering original, owned, and operated TV channels and Partner Channels from prominent brands. The platform has been built from the ground up with proprietary content, technology, and data to deliver unparalleled experiences for businesses and advertisers. The platform also provides a free digital signage feature for businesses to run house promotions within the content. Atmosphere was incubated under Chive Media Group and spun out in 2019.

ABOUT YOU:

You love a good challenge, are driven by data, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You have proven experience in managing or developing an effective team, designing efficient processes, and maintaining day-to-day operations of an accounting department or engagement team. You are comfortable at a hyper-growth company where things evolve quickly. You think multiple steps up- and downstream with an eye for detail and desire to do things correctly from the start. You are comfortable communicating cross functionally and learning other departmental systems to build into your own knowledge base. You’re a leader who can operate at a high-level as well as deep in the details.

Must live in Austin, TX or the surrounding area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Controller and VP by overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, GL, AP, AR, and cash flow management
Maintain and develop a high performing team by coaching employees and managing performance
Share in the responsibility surrounding the coordination of accurate, timely month-end close processes and associated reporting and analysis
Evaluate and implement accounting/finance systems, automations, or enhancements
Functioning familiarity with technical accounting requirements that ensure the company is compliant with GAAP (Ability to surface high level tax concerns/considerations and familiarity with contract analysis a plus)
Oversee changes to accurately capture financial data to drive business decision
Develop, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls (not currently in need of full 404 compliance)

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with experience building and/or leading a team
Systems experience [Netsuite, Tipalti, and Concur among others] a plus
Experience in SEC reporting or familiarity with U.S. GAAP disclosure requirements a plus
Proven leadership, personal integrity and charisma to build consensus with colleagues
Someone who leads by example and drives performance with an aim of continuous improvement
Values that align with Atmosphere
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Media or Tech industry a plus, but not required
Systems oriented thought processes also a large plus)
Public accounting experience is a plus
NetSuite experience preferred
Understanding of databases a plus
CPA Licensure a plus (Texas licensure not required)
