Atmosphere is the world’s first and largest free ad-supported streaming TV service for businesses offering original, owned, and operated TV channels and Partner Channels from prominent brands. The platform has been built from the ground up with proprietary content, technology, and data to deliver unparalleled experiences for businesses and advertisers. The platform also provides a free digital signage feature for businesses to run house promotions within the content. Atmosphere was incubated under Chive Media Group and spun out in 2019.

ABOUT YOU:

Atmosphere is currently looking for a highly motivated Principal Software Engineer who will help us maintain existing products as well as bring new products to life. This individual will be knowledgeable across the stack (front end, apis, datastores etc) as well as capable to quickly and safely develop, test, deploy and maintain these products. The individual will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining key products that monetize the Atmosphere platform. Proficiency in working with modern frameworks to build the backbone of dynamic web applications is a must. The individual should also be passionate about user experience and clean, simple code bases.

Must live in Austin, TX or the surrounding area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mentor, coordinate, and manage team(s) of engineers
Architect and guide implementation of scalable solutions
Push for code quality and simplicity
Strategize, iterate, and execute while maintaining long term vision
Collaborate with other engineering and product leaders to ensure compliance and communication of deliverables.
Explore and document new tools that push the engineering department forwar

REQUIREMENTS:

8+ years in software engineering / full stack development
Frontends: HTML/CSS/Javascript
Backends: REST APIs, RDBMS, NoSQL, etc…
DevOps: Architecture, CI/CD, Monitoring, etc..
Version Control, Integrating 3rd party APIs, Agile
Strong experience leading and/or managing other engineers and owning projects
Strong CS algorithm and data structures background
Bias towards simplicity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

PHP, Node.js, Python
Modern frontend frameworks like Vue.js, React
Modern backend frameworks like NestJS, Laravel, Flask, etc..
CS Degree
